Visiting Colorado, or just back? Check your vape stash.
On Oct. 8, the Colorado Department of Revenue and the state health department expanded a health and safety advisory on vaporizer devices made by Staycon LLC, which does business as Craft. Regulators say they found a synthetic, unapproved flavoring ingredient in some devices. The state considers it a threat to public safety when a vape ingredient isn't botanically derived or listed in the FDA's database of inactive ingredients approved for inhalation.
The first advisory, issued Sept. 25, covered batches made with an ingredient containing methylene chloride. The expanded list now covers affected batches sold at 504 stores between Nov. 5, 2025, and Oct. 7, 2026. Some batches have both problems. Since the first advisory, regulators say they've received reports of adverse health events from Craft users.
The state's advice: check your product's batch number against the published list. If it matches, destroy it or return it to the store where you bought it. Anyone who feels unwell after using it should seek medical attention, then report it to the Marijuana Enforcement Division.
What it means for travelers: hang on to your packaging and receipts while you're on the road. The batch number on the label is how you'll know whether a warning applies to you.
